New Tool for Incident Reporting
Volunteers needed for reporting water pollution
The Environment Agency are trialling a new online pollution incident reporting tool to work alongside their telephone hotline and have asked us to get in touch with some of our CSI communities to test out the new tool. If you would like to know more and get involved with the trial, please read on.
The Environment Agency (EA) is developing a new online reporting service called ‘Report an environmental problem’ which the public can use to report suspected water pollution issues using an online form. The online form aims to provide another way for the public to report to us, which some people may find faster and more accessible.
We are actively seeking volunteers from the public to help participate in testing the online reporting service during a pilot phase in test areas. The pilot has launched and will continue until Autumn 2024.
We are looking for volunteers who regularly use or work with waterbodies and watercourses in their daily lives, for example carrying out patrol duties, going for river walks, fishing, kayaking and wild swimming etc. During the pilot phase, reports can be submitted in the following areas:
· Cumbria and Lancashire
· Yorkshire (East Riding of Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire)
· Devon, Cornwall, and Isles of Scilly
If you are interested in participating please sign-up directly by clicking here.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in protecting the environment.
Kind regards,
The Report an Environmental Problem Team
Many thanks,
